Deck overview

Fire Lord Azula helms a high-velocity Grixis spellslinger deck that turns combat into an explosive storm phase. When Azula attacks, she generates two red mana through Firebending 2 and copies every spell cast while attacking. The deck capitalizes on this ability by casting instant-speed cantrips, rituals, and combat buffs during combat. Magecraft engines like Storm-Kiln Artist and Archmage Emeritus trigger for both the original spell and the copy, generating continuous mana and card flow. Burn engines like Guttersnipe, Vivi Ornitier, and Ashling, Flame Dancer convert this spell volume into lethal global damage, while cards like Unleash Fury and Fists of Flame enable instant commander damage knockouts. Supported by premier free interaction such as Deflecting Swat, Fierce Guardianship, and Force of Will, alongside flash enablers like High Fae Trickster and Valley Floodcaller, the deck establishes a dominant must-answer board on Turn 4 and consistently closes the table by Turn 5.
