Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet tempo and spellslinger build commanded by Ashling, Rekindled // Ashling, Rimebound. The strategy revolves around deploying Ashling early and transforming her into Ashling, Rimebound to generate bonus mana for spells with mana value 4 or greater. This mana acceleration enables the deck to cast mid-range engine permanents like Tellah, Great Sage, Rootha, Mastering the Moment, and Tanufel Rimespeaker ahead of curve. As these engines produce tokens, draw cards, and deal noncombat damage, the deck builds toward high-impact threats like Ovika, Enigma Goliath and Magma Opus. A substantial suite of 9 counterspells and flexible removal spells protects your board and disrupts opposing game plans. The deck wins by overrunning opponents with evasive Elemental and Goblin tokens while burning life totals with Enraged Flamecaster and The Emperor of Palamecia // The Lord Master of Hell, typically closing the game around Turn 8.
