Deck overview

This mono-black deck is an Aristocrats and Reanimator hybrid helmed by Avacyn, Angel of Horror. The deck focuses on assembling durable engines composed of sacrifice outlets, recursive creature fodder, and death-trigger drainers. In the early game, cheap ramp and token generators like Bitterblossom and Black Market Connections establish a resource surplus. By Turn 4, the deck deploys key engines like Yawgmoth, Thran Physician or Ashnod's Altar. The deck applies decisive pressure on Turn 6 by dropping massive drain bombs such as Gray Merchant of Asphodel or locking creature boards with Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos. Reanimation spells like Victimize and Reanimate allow repeated life drain while Avacyn, Angel of Horror acts as late-game insurance, recurring dying creatures every end step to overwhelm opponents by Turn 8.
