Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive, high-synergy Golgari powerhouse centered around The Gitrog, Ravenous Ride. The primary strategy pairs undercosted creatures with disproportionately high power—such as Daemogoth Titan, Phyrexian Soulgorger, and Kalakscion, Hunger Tyrant—with Gitrog's saddle ability. When Gitrog attacks with haste and trample on Turn 4, it sacrifices the saddling creature upon dealing combat damage. This single combat connection generates an enormous burst of card draw (often 6 to 11 cards) while putting multiple lands straight onto the battlefield. From this massive resource surge, the deck transitions into lethal payoffs like Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord, Unnatural Growth, The Skullspore Nexus, and Field of the Dead to eliminate the entire table around Turn 6. Backed by robust instant-speed protection like Heroic Intervention and Tamiyo's Safekeeping, the deck maintains resilience against interaction while threatening rapid, overwhelming board dominance.
