Deck overview

This mono-black deck combines reanimator and aristocrats strategies to control the board and drain life totals. The deck uses early acceleration and graveyard enablers like Entomb, Buried Alive, and Stitcher's Supplier to place high-impact creatures into the graveyard. On Turns 4 and 5, it casts efficient reanimation spells such as Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Victimize to deploy threats like Archon of Cruelty, Kokusho, the Evening Star, and Sheoldred, Whispering One. Free sacrifice outlets convert creature deaths into mana, card draw, and drain triggers via Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Syr Konrad, the Grim. Commander Avacyn, Angel of Horror acts as a top-end engine that returns nontoken creatures to the battlefield at the beginning of each end step, turning edict creatures like Plaguecrafter into repeating board wipes. The deck finishes games on Turn 7 through combat and mass reanimation spells like Living Death.
