Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages a dense package of low-cost deathtouch creatures to command the battlefield under The Serpent Society. The commander imposes a punishing Ward cost of five poison counters, heavily deterring single-target removal, while converting every deathtouch creature death into an edict that forces each opponent to sacrifice a nontoken creature. The deck accelerates in the opening turns with efficient green-black ramp before establishing card draw engines like Black Widow, Deadly Hunter and Glissa Sunslayer. Once assembled, the deck applies lethal pressure through Fynn, the Fangbearer to close out games with poison counters, or grows its board into massive threats with Aveline de Grandpré and The Masamune. Even through heavy board interaction, graveyard recursion engines like Meren of Clan Nel Toth, Archpriest of Shadows, and Victimize sustain continuous pressure.
