Deck overview

This Golgari deck pairs Shadowheart, Dark Justiciar with the Background Master Chef to create a synergistic aristocrats and +1/+1 counters engine. Master Chef ensures that every creature enters with bonus counters, allowing Shadowheart, Dark Justiciar to turn even humble 1/1 tokens into massive burst card draw. The deck leverages efficient mana dorks and dark rituals to establish its commanders early, rapidly pulling ahead in card advantage. From there, it deploys token generators like Chatterfang, Squirrel General, Scute Swarm, and Bitterblossom, alongside sacrifice outlets like Ashnod's Altar and Phyrexian Altar. Victory is achieved by converting tokens and counters into lethal aristocrat drain via Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Slimefoot, the Stowaway, or assembling overwhelming creature swarms boosted by Doubling Season. Supported by efficient black removal, free spells like Deadly Rollick, and resilient graveyard recursion, the deck maintains steady board control while steadily draining all three opponents.
