Deck overview

This Simic deck is a dedicated self-mill combo list commanded by Grolnok, the Omnivore. The primary strategy uses Grolnok's attack triggers alongside cheap Frogs and passive mill permanents like Mesmeric Orb to rapidly mill your library. Grolnok exiles all milled permanent cards with croak counters, turning your exile zone into a massive secondary hand. The deck accelerates through early green ramp spells and mana elves, establishing Grolnok by Turn 3 or 4. Once your engine is online, you can quickly empty your library using high-impact mill spells, Leveler, or the two-card combo of Painter's Servant and Grindstone. The game concludes decisively with Thassa's Oracle, Laboratory Maniac, or Jace, Wielder of Mysteries, securing a same-turn victory. A robust suite of blue counterspells and green naturalize effects protects your combo turns and disrupts opponents.
