Deck overview

This Grixis combo-control deck leverages Mairsil, the Pretender to assemble game-winning activated abilities from exile. By utilizing direct-to-graveyard tutors such as Buried Alive, Intuition, and Entomb, the deck buries key creatures for Mairsil to exile with cage counters. Once Aetherling is caged, Mairsil dodges removal and blinks to accumulate additional abilities on every turn cycle. The primary win condition chains infinite extra turns by combining Anthroplasm and Sage of Hours on Mairsil, or generates infinite mana through Quicksilver Elemental and Vivi Ornitier to draw the deck and cast Thassa's Oracle. A robust suite of free interaction—including Fierce Guardianship, Deflecting Swat, and Force of Will—defends Mairsil during critical assembly windows. The deck blends resilient combo execution with potent asymmetric control tools like caged Nevinyrral's Disk board wipes.
