Deck overview

This Abzan deck is piloted by Olag and Miau, New Friends, merging Cat and Zombie tribal mechanics into an aggressive, synergistic token swarm and life-drain engine. The strategy focuses on deploying efficient token producers from both tribes to trigger Olag's cross-tribal +1/+1 counter distribution, turning small 1/1 tokens into threatening beaters. As creatures attack or tap for mana through Cryptolith Rite, Olag and Throne of the God-Pharaoh drain each opponent's life total at the end step, bypassing combat damage obstacles. The deck features exceptional card draw through engines like Skullclamp and Caretaker's Talent, backed by versatile Abzan spot removal. While resilient against single-target removal thanks to graveyard recursion like Eerie Ultimatum, its reliance on building and maintaining a wide board makes it vulnerable to mass exile sweepers.
