Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis combat spellslinger deck commanded by Fire Lord Azula. The strategy revolves around attacking with Azula to generate two red mana through firebending and copying any spell cast while she is attacking. Early turns focus on developing mana rocks, cost reducers like Goblin Electromancer, and casting cheap cantrips like Ponder and Preordain to shape draws. Once Azula attacks on turn 5, the deck casts high-impact instants during combat, doubling card draw spells like Fact or Fiction or removal like Terminate. Win conditions compound through spellslinger payoffs: Young Pyromancer and Third Path Iconoclast create wide token swarms, Shark Typhoon builds massive flying threats, and Guttersnipe delivers direct burn to all opponents with every doubled spell. Late-game redundancy through Chandra, Hope's Beacon, Double Vision, and Hullbreaker Horror ensures continuous spell duplication and board control even if Azula is removed, grinding down opponents across sustained combat rotations.
