Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Treasure Burn and damage-redirection strategy commanded by Smaug the Impenetrable. The primary game plan revolves around ramping smoothly into the 7-mana commander, then turning noncombat damage spells directly into a massive surge of Treasure tokens. Because Smaug is indestructible and possesses haste, symmetrical damage board wipes such as Blasphemous Act, Chain Reaction, and Star of Extinction function as asymmetric ritual engines, generating up to 20 Treasures in a single resolution while sweeping all opposing creatures away. The resulting Treasure hoard is quickly converted into lethal table damage using outlets like Crackle with Power, Reckless Fireweaver, Pain for All, and Wrathful Red Dragon. The deck exhibits high redundancy among its enablers and payoffs, achieving an operational onset on Turn 6 and eliminating all three opponents on Turn 7.
