Deck overview

This Dimir control deck leverages Sephiroth, Planet's Heir alongside an oppressive toughness-reduction package to dismantle creature-based strategies and convert opposing board states into lethal advantage. The deck accelerates through a dense suite of low-cost mana rocks into pivotal control anchors such as Maha, Its Feathers Night, Night of Souls' Betrayal, and Toxrill, the Corrosive. By shrinking base toughness to 1 or applying persistent -1/-1 and -2/-2 debuffs, it creates one-sided board wipes that repeatedly trigger Sephiroth's growth and fuel card-draw engines like Massacre Girl, Known Killer. Victory is achieved either through lethal commander combat damage enabled by unblockable effects, asymmetric life loss via Massacre Wurm, or an infinite mana and flicker loop with Deadeye Navigator and Peregrine Drake. Backed by flexible countermagic and disruption, the deck excels at locking down creature boards, though it remains vulnerable to noncreature-based combo strategies and targeted removal when shields are down.
