Commander: Grist, the Hunger Tide

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a Golgari Insect tribal midrange deck helmed by Grist, the Hunger Tide that mills and sacrifices its way into a swollen graveyard, then converts that yard into tokens, drains, and combat pressure. The plan is classic undergrowth value: fill the bin with mill and chump-blockers, flood the board with Insect tokens from Hornet Queen, Scute Swarm, Izoni, Thousand-Eyed, and Grist's +1, then close through combat, Syr Konrad, the Grim ping drains, Cauldron of Essence life-loss, or Grist's -5. Recursion like Living Death, Victimize, and Dread Return turns wipes into reloads. There are no infinite combo lines; the deck wins by accumulating board and graveyard mass. Grist is a strong engine and finisher but not a hard requirement-the 99 already runs a full Insect/graveyard package, including the other Grist, Voracious Larva // Grist, the Plague Swarm as a hidden payoff.
