Deck overview

This deck is a 5-color Polymorph Control strategy commanded by Jace, Multiverse Architect. The primary game plan revolves around deploying inexpensive token creators in the early turns, such as Skrelv's Hive, Ophiomancer, and Lingering Souls, supported by an efficient suite of 2-CMC mana rocks. On Turn 4, the deck casts Jace or a polymorph spell like Transmogrify or Polymorph, activating Jace's -3 loyalty ability to exile a token and cheat a massive, game-warping threat onto the battlefield. Payoffs include devastating creatures such as Archon of Cruelty, Hullbreaker Horror, Archfiend of Despair, and Serra's Emissary, which rapidly dismantle opposing boards and present a lethal flying clock. The deck also harbors an infinite combo between Astral Dragon and Cursed Mirror that creates arbitrary numbers of hasty Dragon tokens for an immediate table kill. Defended by combat taxes, spot removal, and resilient protection spells like Flawless Maneuver, the deck steadily grinds opponents out by Turn 7.
