Deck overview

Astor, Bearer of Blades leads a focused Boros Equipment deck that exploits his ETB tutor and universal equip-cost reduction to Equip {1}. The primary plan is to deploy Astor early, tutor a premium Sword or utility equipment, suit up cheaply, and overwhelm opponents with combat-damage triggers. The deck leans heavily on the Sword suite (Sword of Feast and Famine, Sword of Fire and Ice, Sword of Hearth and Home) for mana, cards, and board presence. When the mid-game arrives, the deck can pivot to an infinite-combat finish with Godo, Bandit Warlord + Helm of the Host - a compact two-card kill. Redundant cost-reducers (Bureau Headmaster, Fighter Class, Eowyn, Lady of Rohan, Forge Anew, Kili the Resourceful) ensure the engine runs even if Astor is removed, and a dense protection suite keeps the equipment train rolling.
