This deck is commanded by Magar of the Magic Strings, aiming to discard high-cost, game-ending instants and sorceries and turn them into face-down 3/3 puppet creatures. By utilizing evasive lands, equipment, and unblockable enablers, these puppets reliably deal combat damage to cast copies of devastating spells like Breach the Multiverse, Rise of the Dark Realms, and In Garruk's Wake without paying their mana costs. The mana base and ramp package support an on-curve Turn 3 commander deployment followed immediately by Turn 4 puppet animation. Once the combat engine connects on Turn 5, it buries opponents in card advantage, stolen permanents, or controlled turns. While highly explosive, the game plan depends heavily on Magar remaining operational and requires careful navigation around instant-speed removal, graveyard exile, and creature blockers.
