Sarouman by user6274623

Format: Commander

Commander: Saruman of Many Colors

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Saruman of Many Colors leads an Esper control deck that turns extra spells into mill, graveyard theft, and copied instants/sorceries. The primary path is a two-card combo: cast Approach of the Second Sun, then Mystical Tutor to put it back on top, draw it, and cast it again to win. Glamdring, Foe-hammer equipped to Saruman reduces Approach to {1}{W}, making the loop cheap. The Legend of Yangchen // Avatar Yangchen acts as a hidden second Saruman, airbending permanents on the same second-spell trigger. Planeswalkers, wipes, and stax pieces buy time, while Painful Quandary and extort drain opponents. The deck is resilient but slow, and it depends on finding its one finisher.
