Deck overview

This deck is a Gruul landfall and token swarm strategy commanded by Phylath, World Sculptor. It plays an exceptionally high land count of 43 lands, dominated by 31 basic lands, to maximize Phylath's enter-the-battlefield trigger and ensure consistent land drops every turn. The early game focuses entirely on ramping mana with spells like Search for Tomorrow, Wood Elves, and Explosive Vegetation. On Turn 5, Phylath enters the battlefield to create a large army of 0/1 Plant tokens. In subsequent turns, the deck turns these tokens into lethal threats by stacking +4/+4 counters via landfall, doubling counters with Branching Evolution, or casting overrun effects like Overrun. Incidental burn from Purphoros, God of the Forge and Slash, Reptile Rampager provides non-combat reach. While vulnerable to board wipes due to limited stack interaction, its dense mana base allows it to rebuild quickly.
