Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger storm deck commanded by Vivi Ornitier, designed to convert high spell density into explosive mana acceleration and table-wide burn. The core strategy revolves around deploying cost reducers on early turns, establishing Vivi on turn 3, and untapping into an avalanche of cheap cantrips and rituals. Because Vivi gains a +1/+1 counter and deals 1 damage to each opponent on every noncreature cast, casting spells simultaneously grows Vivi into a massive mana source via its {0} ability and drains opposing life totals. Key velocity engines such as Past in Flames, Archmage Emeritus, and Lock and Load ensure a continuous flow of cards, while auxiliary burn cards like Guttersnipe and Fiery Inscription rapidly accelerate the clock. The deck reliably achieves critical onset by turn 5, closing the game in a single turn without granting opponents response cycles. While highly lethal, the plan remains vulnerable to targeted creature removal before counters accumulate and lacks proactive stax pieces.
