Deck overview

This Esper spellslinger control deck uses Y'shtola, Night's Blessed as both a card advantage engine and a burn outlet. Early turns focus on establishing 2-mana artifact ramp and deploying pillowfort enchantments like Propaganda and Ghostly Prison. Once Y'shtola is on the battlefield, casting noncreature spells with mana value 3 or greater repeatedly drains each opponent for 2 damage while gaining life and drawing cards. Auras like Curiosity and Sigil of Sleep turn every qualifying noncreature spell into a massive card-draw burst or a multi-target creature bounce. The deck protects its setup with Teferi, Time Raveler and a suite of low-cost countermagic, disrupting opposing threats using flexible removal like Cyclonic Rift and Void Rend. It closes the game across Turns 7 and 8 by taking extra turns, stacking spell casts, and casting a lethal Exsanguinate.
