Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered competitive Mono-Black Stax-Combo list helmed by Tergrid, God of Fright. It operates on a dual-threat axis: aggressively deploying format-ceiling fast mana and tutors to assemble a deterministic Turn 3 combo kill via Professor Onyx and Chain of Smog, while simultaneously suffocating the pod under ruthless stax and asymmetric attrition. Tergrid weaponizes symmetric discard and sacrifice effects like Pox, Smallpox, and Dark Deal, turning opponents' resource losses into immediate board dominance. Meanwhile, premier hate pieces such as Chains of Mephistopheles, Opposition Agent, Orcish Bowmasters, and Vexing Bauble dismantle opposing tutor and draw engines. If the game is contested, the deck effortlessly pivots between Hoarding Broodlord reanimation lines, Sedgemoor Witch token swarms, and Bloodchief Ascension drain combos. Backed by explosive draw engines like Necropotence and The One Ring, the deck maintains relentless velocity, presenting compact lethal windows with zero opponent response cycles.
