Deck overview

This deck is a Golgari midrange archetype led by Nemata, Primeval Warden that combines deathtouch tribal synergies with token generation and aristocrat drain effects. The early game focuses on deploying low-cost deathtouch creatures such as Ambush Viper, Ankle Biter, and Frog Butler to establish strong defensive board presence and deter opposing attacks. Once Nemata enters the battlefield, instant-speed bite and fight spells like Bite Down and Quarrel turn small deathtouch creatures into lethal removal spells that exile opposing threats and generate 1/1 Saproling tokens. In the mid-to-late game, the deck transitions into a lethal wide board using token engines like Mycoloth and Arasta of the Endless Web, while drain payoffs like Poison-Tip Archer and Hooded Blightfang whittle down opponents' life totals. Nemata also acts as a built-in sacrifice outlet to draw cards or threaten lethal commander damage.
