Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius stax and combo-control strategy led by Grand Arbiter Augustin IV. The primary game plan revolves around generating asymmetric tempo disparity. By accelerating into an early Grand Arbiter on Turn 3 or 4, the deck increases the mana costs of all opposing spells by {1} while reducing the cost of its own white and blue spells. This tax slows down opponents' development and creates room to deploy complementary stax pieces such as Drannith Magistrate, Lavinia, Azorius Renegade, Aura of Silence, and Teferi, Time Raveler. With opponents constrained under heavy mana taxes and timing restrictions, the deck searches for its primary win condition using efficient tutors like Mystical Tutor and Muddle the Mixture. On Turn 5, it executes a compact win line by casting Paradigm Shift to exile its library followed by Thassa's Oracle to win the game immediately. Robust protection from Grand Abolisher and Silence safeguards the final combo turn from disruption.
