Deck overview

This deck is a focused Dimir tempo burn build commanded by Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow. The core strategy deploys low-cost, unblockable creatures on Turn 1 to enable Commander Ninjutsu on Turn 2. Because Commander Ninjutsu is an activated ability that puts Yuriko directly onto the battlefield tapped and attacking, it bypasses standard counterspells and avoids commander tax entirely. The deck leverages topdeck manipulation—including Brainstorm, Scroll Rack, Sensei's Divining Top, and Lim-Dûl's Vault—to place high-mana cards like Shadow of Mortality (15 CMC) and Temporal Trespass (11 CMC) on top of the library. When Ninjas deal combat damage, Yuriko reveals these cards to drain all opponents simultaneously while drawing cards. Supported by free interaction like Fierce Guardianship and Deadly Rollick, the deck maintains board tempo and closes the game across two lethal combat rotations by Turn 5.
