Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov lifegain and group-slug attrition deck commanded by Liesa, Shroud of Dusk. It focuses on accelerating into early mana rocks to deploy Liesa on Turn 4, immediately placing a severe life tax on all spellcasting. The deck leverages life total asymmetry by utilizing lifelink attackers and soul-sister triggers from Soul Warden and Soul's Attendant to buffer its own life total while converting that lifegain into incremental damage through Marauding Blight-Priest, Cliffhaven Vampire, and Starscape Cleric. A deep suite of flexible white and black removal spells answers opposing threats cleanly. The deck grinds opponents down across several turns, eventually securing victory around Turn 8 through accumulated tax attrition, combat pressure, or an explosive drain spell like Debt to the Deathless or Exsanguinate. Because Liesa substitutes life for commander mana tax, the deck recovers its primary threat with exceptional speed after removal.
