Deck overview

Adeliz, the Cinder Wind leads an aggressive Izzet spellslinger deck that converts low-cost instants and sorceries into massive combat swings. The game plan curve starts with efficient Wizard creatures like Soul-Scar Mage, Stormcatch Mentor, and Balmor, Battlemage Captain, followed by Adeliz, the Cinder Wind to distribute explosive team-wide power buffs. By chaining inexpensive cantrips such as Crash Through, Opt, and Expressive Iteration, the deck triggers prowess and tribal boosts in rapid succession, pushing heavy evasive damage through the air. Redundant burn engines including Guttersnipe and Fiery Inscription provide reach by damaging all opponents simultaneously with each cast. While the deck boasts high early tempo and burst potential, it relies heavily on creature presence and card velocity to avoid running out of steam. Protective spells like Dive Down and Negate shield key threats, but the strategy remains vulnerable to sweepers.
