Deck overview

This Sultai deck uses Kotis, the Fangkeeper as an indestructible base for an aggressive mutate engine. Mutating large creatures such as Brokkos, Apex of Forever, Auspicious Starrix, and Otrimi, the Ever-Playful onto Kotis turns the commander into a resilient, high-power attacker with trample and flying. When this stack deals combat damage, Kotis exiles cards from an opponent's library and casts every revealed spell with mana value equal to or less than the damage dealt without paying mana costs. Each mutation also triggers cascading value that destroys opposing permanents, taps blockers, and cheats permanents into play. Support pieces like Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief copy mutate spells across multiple creatures, while clone effects duplicate triggers. Although the deck wins through standard combat damage over several turn cycles and lacks dedicated tutors, Kotis's built-in indestructibility and free spells generate strong mid-game momentum.
