Deck overview

This Golgari deck harnesses Ygra, Eater of All to transform all creatures on the battlefield into Food artifacts. This static ability turns every creature death into +1/+1 counters for Ygra while powering a dense web of Food, Squirrel, and token aristocrat synergies. In early turns, the deck accelerates mana using efficient dorks and rocks like Delighted Halfling, Sol Ring, and Arcane Signet. Once Ygra enters on Turn 4, token generators like Chatterfang, Squirrel General, Camellia, the Seedmiser, and Experimental Confectioner flood the board with disposable bodies. Sacrifice outlets and drain engines like Mirkwood Bats, Marionette Apprentice, and Bastion of Remembrance then systematically drain opponents whenever tokens or Food artifacts leave the battlefield. In parallel, Ygra rapidly grows into a lethal, trampling commander threat supported by Garruk's Uprising and Swiftfoot Boots. Asymmetric sweeps like Season of Gathering clean opposing boards while sparing Ygra, closing the game cleanly around Turn 6.
