Deck overview

This deck utilizes Sauron, the Dark Lord as a robust card-draw engine and board presence in the command zone. By accelerating mana early with rocks and rituals, the deck lands Sauron ahead of curve and uses Ring-tempt triggers from nine copies of Nazgûl and Call of the Ring to discard and draw four cards repeatedly. This hand cycling stocks the graveyard with massive threats such as Terror of the Peaks, Archfiend of Ifnir, and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse. The deck then resolves high-impact reanimation spells like Living Death, Victimize, and Rise of the Dark Realms to assemble a lethal combat board while controlling opposing boards through continuous -1/-1 counter placement. Sauron's built-in ward makes spot removal difficult for opponents, providing resilience while you close the game over two turn cycles.
