Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Grixis midrange engine commanded by Edea, Possessed Sorceress. Its primary strategy focuses on taking control of opposing creatures temporarily, utilizing them in combat, and sacrificing them before end of turn to draw cards and gain mana. The deck runs a rich suite of free and efficient interaction, including Fierce Guardianship, Deflecting Swat, and Deadly Rollick, to keep its commander safe while denying opponent victories. Win conditions revolve around turning opponents' own armies against them using game-ending theft spells like Insurrection, Mob Rule, and Mass Mutiny, or buffing stolen forces with Don Andres, the Renegade. Because it depends heavily on creature combat and opponents having valuable targets on the battlefield, the deck thrives against creature-heavy battlecruiser boards while using potent counterspells and asymmetric bounce like Cyclonic Rift to manage noncreature combo threats.
