Deck overview

This Esper control-combo deck helmed by Y'shtola, Night's Blessed leverages life-loss triggers and noncreature spell synergies to generate card advantage and incremental damage. The primary game plan is to deploy Y'shtola early, then chain noncreature spells with mana value 3 or greater to trigger her damage and life gain, while assembling an infinite life-drain loop via Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose + Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror. A dense interaction suite of counterspells, free removal, and pillowfort effects protects the combo and controls the board. Secondary wins include Exsanguinate for a large X, or commander damage triggers multiplied by Delney, Streetwise Lookout and Roaming Throne. The deck is highly synergistic, with strong card draw from Mystic Remora, Esper Sentinel, and the partner pair Alisaie Leveilleur / Alphinaud Leveilleur.
