Kraven the hunter by tieria27

Format: Commander

Commander: Kraven the Hunter

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Golgari deck helmed by Kraven, the Hunter is a midrange fight-and-voltron strategy that leverages deathtouch, +1/+1 counters, and conditional card draw to grind out games. The primary game plan is to use the commander's triggered ability - drawing a card and growing whenever an opponent's biggest creature dies - by deploying a dense suite of fight spells (Prey Upon, Savage Punch, Primal Might, etc.) and equipment like Basilisk Collar to profitably remove threats. Over time, Kraven becomes a trampling, deathtouch-laden threat that can finish the table via commander damage or be supported by alternate beaters like Reyhan, Last of the Abzan and Yahenni, Undying Partisan. Secondary win conditions include Grave Betrayal to steal opponents' creatures and Rishkar's Expertise for massive card advantage. The deck lacks counterspells and fast mana, relying on consistent creature removal and incremental advantages to outlast opponents.
