Deck overview

This Golgari deck uses Shelob, Child of Ungoliant to lead a Spider tribal midrange strategy. The early game focuses on deploying low-cost Spiders and accelerating mana using green ramp spells. By turn 5, Shelob enters the battlefield, granting all Spiders deathtouch and ward {2}. This turns low-cost fight and bite spells like Bushwhack and Cosmic Hunger into instant-speed removal that also steals opposing creatures as Food artifact tokens. The deck generates card advantage through morbid and death triggers like Deathreap Ritual and Moldervine Reclamation. Win conditions rely on accumulating a wide board of reach tokens via Arasta of the Endless Web and Spider Spawning, then closing out the game with mass pump spells like Overwhelming Stampede or direct life drain from Rotwidow Pack and Ishkanah, Grafwidow. While resilient to flying attacks and spot removal, the deck is vulnerable to board wipes and non-creature combo strategies.
