Deck overview

Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER commands a mono-black Aristocrats deck that converts creature sacrifice and graveyard recursion into steady card advantage, life drain, and board control. The deck develops early token generators like Ophiomancer and fodder creatures before casting Sephiroth on Turn 3. From Turn 4 onward, Sephiroth attacks to draw cards and steadily drain opponents' life totals whenever creatures die. The midgame uses asymmetric edict effects like Sheoldred's Edict and board wipes like Massacre Girl to trigger four creature deaths in a turn, flipping Sephiroth into Sephiroth, One-Winged Angel to grant a permanent drain emblem. The deck closes games around Turn 6 by assembling the infinite drain loop of Exquisite Blood and Marauding Blight-Priest, or through repeated drain bursts with Gray Merchant of Asphodel. While resilient against creature-heavy boards, the deck struggles against resolved noncreature permanents, stack interaction, and dedicated artifact/enchantment removal.
