Deck overview

The deck uses Jace, Multiverse Architect as a filtering and creature-cheat commander. Its normal development is to play lands and two-mana rocks, establish a token or other disposable creature, then cast Jace and use −3 to exchange that creature for the first creature or planeswalker revealed from the library. The deck has strong follow-up value from Jace's +1, Black Market Connections, Whirlwind of Thought, Consecrated Sphinx, and Nissa, Leyline Tamer. Its best battlefield engines include Toxrill, the Corrosive, Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite, Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant, and Hullbreaker Horror. However, the plan is high variance and expensive. The commander does not select the cheated card, the deck has little stack interaction, and no supported deterministic win converts its large creatures and tokens into a table kill. It is a strong casual value shell, not a competitive combo or lock deck.
