Deck overview

This deck is a Mono-Black Aristocrats, Reanimator, and Control deck helmed by Avacyn, Angel of Horror. The deck focuses on assembling efficient early sacrifice engines, utilizing cards like Yawgmoth, Thran Physician, Braids, Arisen Nightmare, and Skullclamp to build substantial card velocity while keeping opposing creature boards clear with repeatable edict creatures like Plaguecrafter and Accursed Marauder. Once sufficient mana acceleration is established via Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, or rituals, casting or reanimating Avacyn, Angel of Horror transforms every nontoken sacrifice into an end-step recursion engine. By looping powerful death triggers such as Kokusho, the Evening Star and Gray Merchant of Asphodel on every player's turn, the deck rapidly drains all opponents while locking out opposing creature strategies. The list demonstrates strong engine redundancy and rapid recovery from board wipes, though it remains vulnerable to resolved rest-in-peace style graveyard exile and heavy artifact/enchantment-based combo strategies.
