Deck overview

This deck is a focused Dimir Sea Monster Reanimator strategy commanded by Runo Stromkirk // Krothuss, Lord of the Deep. The deck accelerates early using two-mana artifacts and self-mill enablers such as Entomb, Buried Alive, and Otherworldly Gaze to deposit massive Krakens, Leviathans, Octopuses, and Serpents into the graveyard. Runo enters on Turn 3 to place a 6+ CMC creature onto the library, easily transforming into Krothuss on the subsequent upkeep. Once transformed, the deck reanimates its premier sea monsters and attacks with Krothuss, creating two tapped and attacking copies of the chosen behemoth. Cloned triggers from Spawning Kraken, Scourge of Fleets, and Hullbreaker Horror generate overwhelming combat damage and asymmetric board wipes, closing games out on Turn 6 with evasive flying damage enabled by Wonder.
