Deck overview

This is a mono-black discard-reanimator deck helmed by Songbird, Sonic Screamer. The plan is simple and brutal: dump high-impact creatures into the graveyard via discard outlets and tutors like Buried Alive, then cheat them into play with cheap reanimation such as Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Dance of the Dead. Primary finishers are value engines and drain pieces-Archon of Cruelty, Vilis, Broker of Blood, Razaketh, the Foulblooded, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Massacre Wurm, and Peer into the Abyss-backed by recursive engines like Sheoldred, Whispering One, Chainer, Dementia Master, and The Soul Stone. Songbird, Sonic Screamer is a cheap early discard outlet and lifelink body, not the deck's engine; the 99 carries the full reanimator package independently. Secondary pressure comes from discard payoffs (Bone Miser, Monument to Endurance, Archfiend of Ifnir) and mid-game mana explosions off Cabal Coffers, Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, and Crypt Ghast.
