Deck overview

This deck is a Jund midrange attrition strategy centered on -1/-1 counters and the Blight mechanic. Commanded by Auntie Ool, Cursewretch, the deck turns self-inflicted -1/-1 counters into steady card advantage while punishing opponents whenever their creatures receive counters. Dense early ramp ensures Auntie Ool hits the battlefield by Turn 4. From there, the deck leverages mass-counter sweepers like Carnifex Demon, Soul Snuffers, and Black Sun's Zenith to decimate opposing boards, generate swarms of deathtouch Snakes and Insects through Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons and Nest of Scarabs, and paralyze attacks with Kulrath Knight. While the deck creates suffocating combat locks against creature-based strategies, it completely lacks nonland tutors and instant-speed protective spells. Consequently, it relies heavily on continuous card draw and must navigate two opponent response cycles to finish the game through combat damage and life drain.
