Commander: Smaug the Impenetrable

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Helmed by Smaug the Impenetrable, this Black-Red Treasure/Dragon deck wants to take damage to make money. The commander's indestructible body turns self-pinging spells and damage-redirect equipment into a Treasures engine: Self-Destruct, Spiteful Banditry, Blazing Sunsteel, and Pain for All convert a single hit into an avalanche of tokens and table-wide burn. Treasures then fuel explosive plays: Goldspan Dragon doubles their mana, Magda, Brazen Outlaw tutors up Blazing Sunsteel or Hellkite Tyrant, Xorn and Academy Manufactor multiply token production, and Mirkwood Bats/Mayhem Devil convert every token into life loss. The fastest kills come from the Brash Taunter + Blazing Sunsteel machine gun or by looping damage onto Smaug, with Revel in Riches and Hellkite Tyrant as alternate win conditions. Combat with hasty Dragons is the fallback plan.
