Deck overview

This Abzan deck weaponizes high-toughness, low-power creatures under Felothar the Steadfast, turning cheap defensive walls into formidable attackers that deal combat damage equal to their toughness. By curving out low-cost defenders in the opening turns, the deck deploys Felothar on Turn 4 to unlock immediate offensive capability and massive card draw by sacrificing zero-power creatures with high toughness. On Turn 5, it pivots to critical combat pressure using explosive toughness multipliers like Tower Defense and unblockable evasion from Akroma's Will to eliminate opponents sequentially across Turns 5 through 7. The deck maintains exceptional resilience through premier protection spells like Teferi's Protection and Flawless Maneuver, while disrupting opposing boards asymmetrically with Meekstone, Slaughter the Strong, and Aura Shards. Redundant combat enablers like Doran the Siege Tower ensure the strategy remains potent even without the commander.
