Commander: Betor, Ancestor's Voice

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This Abzan deck uses Betor, Ancestor's Voice to grind value from life gained and life lost. You fill the graveyard, then Betor returns one creature each end step equal to life lost and adds counters equal to life gained. The deck wins by looping drain creatures like Gray Merchant of Asphodel and Archon of Cruelty, or by building a board for Bolas's Citadel and Living Death. Razaketh and Vilis act as hidden engines that tutor and draw off life payments. Betor is not a combo piece; he is a repeatable recursion engine that rewards you for paying life and gaining it back.
