If It’s Bre, It’s Free by whoisjayt

Format: Commander

Commander: Bre of Clan Stoutarm

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Bre of Clan Stoutarm is the deck's engine, not its finisher: it temporarily turns another creature into a flying lifelinker, and each end step's lifegain is converted into a free nonland card whose mana value is capped by life gained that turn. The primary plan is Boros lifegain-plus-counters: cheap creatures such as Ajani's Pridemate and Twinblade Paladin grow while Bre chains out 4-to-7 mana payoffs. Secondary paths use Valkyrie Harbinger's angel generation and Nykthos Paragon's global +1/+1 counter burst. Hidden commander is Kirol, Attentive First-Year, who can copy Bre's end-step trigger or another powerful lifegain trigger for a second free card. Gisela and board-wide anthems finish combat.
