Deck overview

This Boros deck pairs Karlach, Fury of Avernus with Far Traveler to execute an aggressive token-swarm combat strategy. The early game focuses on deploying low-cost token generators, utility creatures, and disruptive hatebears such as Imposing Sovereign and Vryn Wingmare. On Turn 5, casting Karlach immediately grants an extra combat phase and first strike to all attackers, effectively doubling the deck's offensive output. At the end of each turn, Far Traveler flickers a tapped enters-the-battlefield creature, such as Pia and Kiran Nalaar or Geist-Honored Monk, to steadily replenish the battlefield. By Turn 6, dropping a damage multiplier like Blade Historian or Goldnight Commander turns modest tokens into lethal threats capable of eliminating opponents across consecutive combat phases. While vulnerable to sweepers and low on raw card draw, the deck generates high combat velocity and recovers through redundant go-wide payoffs.
