Deck overview

This Gruul partner deck pairs Kodama of the East Tree and Alena, Kessig Trapper to produce overwhelming mana velocity, deploy massive creatures ahead of curve, and draw deep through power-based card advantage engines. The deck accelerates through early turns using low-cost ramp spells, establishes Kodama or Alena on turns 4 to 5, and immediately cheats additional threats onto the battlefield. Card draw engines like Elemental Bond, Garruk's Uprising, and Rishkar's Expertise keep the hand full of massive beaters such as Ghalta, Primal Hunger and Cultivator Colossus. The primary win route relies on crushing combat damage backed by trample and overrun effects like Overwhelming Stampede, supplemented by an infinite combat backup combo with Aggravated Assault and Savage Ventmaw. While the engine is resilient and recovers well from board wipes, the list suffers from an extreme deficit in reactive interaction and instant-speed protection.
