Deck overview

This Mardu Equipment deck focuses on rapidly tutoring and deploying high-impact weapons while bypassing equip costs through low-mana support creatures and enchantments. Led by Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale, the list operates efficiently even without its six-mana commander thanks to an array of redundant engines like Puresteel Paladin, Ardenn, Intrepid Archaeologist, and Sigarda's Aid. The deck reaches usable assembly by Turn 4, presenting lethal combat threats via Colossus Hammer, Embercleave, and keyword-granting swords. It protects its investment through a robust instant-speed defensive suite fetchable by Sunforger, including Teferi's Protection and Boros Charm. While its clock requires sequential combat steps across multiple turn cycles to eliminate three opponents, its resilience, dense card flow, and tutor access make it a potent aggressive combat engine.
