Gandalf, party guest by Chron

Format: Commander

Commander: Gandalf, Party Guest

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Jeskai legendary Wizard spellslinger deck. The primary plan is to build a board of legendary Wizards and cast many instants and sorceries to pump the team with Adeliz, Balmor, Veyran and Harmonic Prodigy, then use Gandalf, Party Guest to cast big spells for free at the start of combat. Gandalf is a value engine, not a combo piece; his free cast scales as 2x the number of legendary Wizards you control. The hidden commander is Vivi Ornitier, which provides repeatable mana and pings that turn every noncreature spell into damage and ramp. Secondary paths are chaining extra turns (Time Warp, Temporal Manipulation, Nexus of Fate, Expropriate) for multiple combats and stealing the board with Insurrection, often copied by Kitsa, Otterball Elite.
