Format: Commander

Commander: Nekusar, the Mindrazer

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This deck is a classic Nekusar, the Mindrazer wheel-and-punish build, forcing opponents to draw extra cards and then burning them for each card drawn. The primary game plan is to deploy a suite of draw-punisher permanents-Underworld Dreams, Spiteful Visions, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Ob Nixilis, the Hate-Twisted, and others-then resolve a wheel such as Windfall or Wheel of Fortune to deal massive burst damage to each opponent. Secondary win conditions include Psychosis Crawler and The Locust God for token swarm, and Tergrid, God of Fright to steal permanents discarded via wheels. The deck relies on its commander for a critical source of draw and damage, but also packs a robust interaction suite of counterspells, free removal, and board wipes to protect its engine.
