Deck overview

This deck executes a mono-black aristocrats and reanimator strategy helmed by M.O.D.O.K.. The commander serves as a self-contained card selection engine, graveyard enabler, and asymmetric creature debuff. By paying life to repeatedly connive, the deck quickly digs for key pieces, stocks the graveyard with reanimation targets, and grows M.O.D.O.K. into a lethal flying lifelinker. Mana acceleration from Dark Ritual, Sol Ring, Warren Soultrader, and Cabal Coffers enables reliable engine deployment by Turn 4. The deck establishes critical pressure on Turn 5 with high-impact attrition threats such as Bloodletter of Aclazotz, Rottenmouth Viper, and Bolas's Citadel. Rather than relying on infinite combos, it drains the table over two turns through multiplied life loss, recurring edicts, and death triggers. Opponents face severe creature suppression from M.O.D.O.K.'s passive -1/-1 aura and continuous sacrifice effects, while the deck leverages robust reanimation spells like Reanimate and Victimize to outlast removal.
